What is a Transformational Investor?
She is a leader, successful in her own world, often a mother, who is actively engaged in her own development. She is involved with a variety of organizations and uses various tools and practices to maintain balance. She's concerned about the world's future, and particularly about her children's future. She values community and connection. She believes the roles of women and men in and out of romantic relationships need to be redefined and she strives to be a model in her own relationships. She invests in projects she believes will help bring a new perspective to being a woman in today's society and those that will make a significant contribution to creating a world that is socially, environmentally, and spiritually well-balanced.
He is also a leader, often an entrepreneur and father, who is excited about the opportunities that technology and new approaches offer for addressing society's most significant problems. He's actively involved in the investments that most excite him. He's concerned about global issues and does his best to design his life to reflect his values. He puts a priority on his role as a father, setting aside time to both spend time with his kids and to be involved in their development. He's sometimes a bit mystified by what his wife or partner expects or wants from him as the roles of men and women are shifting. He may or may not be engaged in tools and practices for his own development, but when he is, it's often at the encouragement of the women in his life.
What's the Difference Between Transformational Investors and Other Investors?
Financial Investors: Investing for the best possible financial return.
Social Impact Investors: Investing in ". . . companies, organizations, and funds with the intention to generate a measurable, beneficial social or environmental impact alongside a financial return." (Wikipedia - Impact Investing)
Transformational Investors: Investing for both personal as well as social transformation. Who's Behind This Program?
The Beyul and its Transformational Investor Program was founded by New York Times bestselling author, Chris Attwood. With his business partner and ex-wife, Janet Bray Attwood, he built a global brand with over 3,000 Passion Test facilitators in more than 65 countries.
Over the past 30 years, Chris has been CEO or senior executive of more than a dozen companies including a secondary dealer in government securities, a software development company, a magazine publishing company, an international recruiting company, and a software usability company for which he sold millions of dollars in consulting and training services to companies like Ford Motor Company, Dell Computer, Sprint, Royal Bank of Canada, Mellon Bank and others.
After resigning as President of a government securities dealer in the early 1980s, Chris took 10 years for his own inner development, spending 8-10 hours a day in deep meditation. During this time he extensively studied the Vedic literature of India and the functioning of human consciousness. As a result of this research, Chris has become a recognized expert on the ancient concept of Dharma--living in the flow of life.
During the past fifteen years Chris has become one of the leading figures in the transformational industry, having put together some of the major strategic alliances in this industry, including his key role in arranging 70% of the interviews for the book and movie phenomenon, The Secret, which has been viewed by an estimated 200 million people, and has sold over 20 million books worldwide. Chris is a founding member of the Transformational Leadership Council created by Jack Canfield.
The Beyul is supported by a board of prestigious advisors and top transformational leaders.

Lois Shannon is the founder of the Woman's Network (thewomansnetwork.com) and an angel investor supporting a variety of innovative projects for transforming the world. After spending many years "fitting in" to a man's world as an executive at Apple, Bain & Co, and Russell Reynolds Associates, Lois found herself adrift, feeling a deep disconnection with herself and the world around her. She reconnected by remembering and reclaiming her intrinsic worth through the support of other women. She began running her own women’s groups to facilitate honest, open communication and saw amazing results. Now Lois invests in and supports projects, particularly women-led initiatives, that help move our world toward a more balanced, supportive, and nurturing future. With her husband, Tom (see below) and their three teenage children, Lois lives in Boulder, CO and southern France.
Tom Virden, with his wife Lois (see above), manages his own angel investment fund and, like Lois, is actively involved in the businesses in which they invest. Among the many companies he has helped create, Tom was the primary inspiration for Boatbookings.com, one of the world’s premier yacht charter companies. He is also Co-founder of Nymbl Science (nymblscience.com), a health-tech company that uses smartphone technology to improve balance and reduce falls among older adults. The company's goal is to prevent a million falls, the leading cause of accidental death among the elderly. Tom began his 35+ year tech career at Apple Inc where he managed the introduction of over 100 products and created the company’s Small Business and Music Market groups. He's held a variety of executive positions and board positions at companies like Atari, Digidesign and MicroFocus, one of the largest tech companies in the UK.
